Gastrocolic Fistula Secondary to Carcinoma of the Stomach

Abstract

|
A case of gastrocolic fistula secondary to carcinoma of the stomach observed at Dept. of Surgery. Chunnam University Hospital. The patient was 42 year old female whose chief complaints were weight loss, palpable mass at left upper quadrant of the abdomen, foul eructation and fecal vomitus. The tentative diagnosis was made by barium enema, and final diagnosis was a mucinous adenocarcinoma of the stomach confirmed by post operative histological examination. Following careful preoperative colon preparation, a single stage operation was performed by En bloc excision of the stomach, omentum, transverse colon and spleen with end to end colostomy and Polya gastrojejunostomy.
